What's Boudoir Shoot Day Like?

San Diego Luxury Boudoir Photographer

Studio Arrival

When you arrive in the studio I'll greet you with some fresh water (maybe a cocktail if you're game), and our hair and makeup team will go right to work. Call time for shoot day is 9:15am, we start early around here! The reason for this is I want you to be fresh faced and well rested for your session. In the weeks leading up to each session I advise all my clients to stretch, drink lots of water, and get a good night's sleep. Before arriving for your session feel free to have a light breakfast like fresh fruit, hot tea, toast. I don't want you to feel sleepy, heavy or bloated before your session.

While you're in hair and makeup I'll be sorting through the outfits you brought and showing you which outfits I pulled for you.

Lights, Camera, Action!

Once your hair and makeup is complete, you and I will narrow down the outfits you brought and the ones I suggested for you. We'll select the order for the outfits based on what studio bonus sets you picked out (i.e. the clawfoot tub, dark angel wings, etc.). I'll help you into the outfit and make sure all the tags are removed, the straps aren't twisted, and we'll start shooting. It's probably about 11am by the time we start. See why that breakfast and staying hydrated was so important? You've already been in the studio for about two hours and we haven't even started shooting yet! This is truly a full day special event.

Kira's session was a milk bath, so I also prepped the clawfoot tub with flowers and warm water.

Ready to see the final images?

Our total shoot time is about 2 hours with three outfit changes, and several sets around the studio. I have water and snacks to keep you hydrated and your hunger staved off while we're working together. Throughout the session I'll show you what I've shot right from the back of the camera. You'll start to see that those crazy poses and my facial expression coaching is effective at getting the best images of your gorgeous self. After we are done shooting we will select a date to come back to the studio and view your final images. This is also when I'll be placing your order for your products. Clients who are paying in full on the day of their session will make the full payment for any products they've selected at this appointment. Clients who took advantage of our payment plan will simply select their images according to the Collection or à la carte products they've already paid for.

In addition to working with PayPal Credit, Klarna, CashApp, Venmo, Affirm, and Zelle we also offer pre-session payment plans as a financing option for your session.

With our pre-session payment plans, you will pick out your desired products ahead of time and we will break up your investment into either bi-weekly or monthly installments leading up to your session. On session day, your products will already be paid for of and you will have one less think to think about.

Once we're done with the ordering and invoicing we'll complete the Permission Slip that tells me which images you're comfortable sharing and which images you'd like to keep private.
